Delphi Automotive in Kokomo, Indiana, is heavily involved in the development of technology to support the new generation of electric automobiles. This Steinberger project, completed under the direction of construction manager Barton Malow, involved construction of a complete new lab building and a separate utility building.

Steinberger was awarded the general trades package for this project which involved interior build-out and finishes for the 70,500 SF Validation Lab and 29,600 SF mezzanine, as well as complete construction of the adjacent 10,000 SF Utility Building.

Steinberger crews performed all masonry partitions, precast concrete decks, carpentry, casework, doors and hardware, overhead doors, dock equipment, windows and glazing, studs, drywall, painting, and flooring. The package for the utility building also included the structural steel framework, insulated panel walls, and membrane roofing.
