Team
Culture
We believe that our team members are our number one asset, and that is why we put Safety First! At Steinberger we have been able to instill our belief for safety into each of our team members. We are able to continue to be recognized as a safety leader within the construction industry due to the safety culture that has been created by our team. This culture has led to a partnership with IOSHA through the Coalition for Construction Safety (CCS), which recognizes the safest contractors in the construction industry across the state of Indiana.

History
Steinberger Construction was founded in 1945 by Roger Steinberger. Roger was a Project Manager for the construction of military bases during World War II. Roger later began with small remodeling projects and soon branched into new home construction. Roger’s son Jack grew up in the business.
In the 1960’s after serving in the Air Force, Jack Steinberger began projects at Grissom Air Force Base. The company shifted from new home construction into industrial and commercial construction.
In 1984, along with co-worker Ken Personett, Jack Steinberger’s sons Jim and Tom purchased the company. The company targeted larger projects and an increased range of operation, concentrating in North Central Indiana. A great deal of the company’s business has been for private sector industry.
In 2009, the company implemented a long-term succession plan involving members of the company’s management team. Matt Lewellen, Becky DeWitt, Ben Thompson and Joe Zinsmeister joined the ownership team as the 4th generation of owners.
Paul Linback joined the ownership team.
